Retrofit Inflow Tracer – RIT

(Read also about our inflow tracers for installation in sand screens, slotted liners, etc.)

Tracers can be installed in existing wells in a tracer carrier tool that will detect which part of the well that produce water. This is done without any logging or intervention in the well, just by analyzing the produced water.

The tool can be installed retrofit anywhere in the reservoir section, inside in the liner or screen. There are two available versions, the “RIT Zone Selective” is designed to detect if water is produced from the adjacent perforations at the installation depth, and the “RIT Upstream” which is designed to detect all upstream water production.

The tracer lifetime is up to 5 years, dependent upon reservoir temperature. The tool can easily be retrieved and reinstalled if longer lifetime is necessary. The ID through the tool will be as large as 4.6" for a normal 7" completion string, logging strings and other possible intervention tools can pass through. Due to the large diameter there will be no flow restriction caused by this instillation.
